Polish Consulate in Kidderminster relaunched!
Polish Honorary Consul
On Saturday September 13th. 2008 at a Ceremony and Reception at Kidderminster's Polish Ex-Servicemen's (SPK) Club I was officially presented with my "Act of Nomination" and Letters of Accreditation as Honorary Consul of The Republic of Poland for the West Midlands by Her Excellency Mrs. Barbara Tuge-Erecinska, Polish Ambassador.
I'd like to thank ALL the West Midlands Civic Dignatories who attended (As well as the Chairman and Consort of Wyre Forest and Mayor and Mayoress of Kidderminster, I was honoured by the attendance of District Council Chairmen and Mayors from across Worcestershire, the Vice Chairman of Worcs. CC, the Lord Mayor and Lady Mayoress of Birmingham and the Mayors of Dudley and Walsall).
Representatives of West Mercia Police, Hereford and Worcester Fire and Rescue Authority and the local Health Authorities were also there as well as the Chairman of the Federation of Poles in GB and the Honorary Consul for Lithuania (who is also based in Worcs!).
With all the personal friends and colleagues there were over 80 of us there. I apologise to all those I couldn't invite but the Polish Club doesn't have elastic walls!
Thanks to Colin Hill who took official photos and to Plyvine catering for the buffet (the Mayor of Kidderminster and Leader of Wyre Forest seemed to like the mini-patissierie selection!)
Thanks also to Town Clerk Charles Talbot for his speech on behalf of the town, to Marcelina Klosinska, a pupil at Kidderminster Polish Saturday School, for presenting a bouquet to Her Excellency and to Polish Priest Ks. jan Gora for blessing the work of the Consulate.
Now it is down to work!
